Transfiguration School Board
Finance - responsible for reviewing the annual budget, recommending tuition rates, administering to the yearly Parish Appeal through mailings and handwritten thank-you letters; Chairperson will be the Board liaison to the Parish Finance Committee.
Public Relations - edits the monthly newsletter, helps maintain communication to the Parish community about school activities, and works to stimulate Parish and community interest in the school.
Technology - initiates, implements, reviews, and updates a school technology plan addressing the technological needs of the school.
Governance - reviews and recommends updates to the Board Policy, Constitution, and By-Laws; determines how proposed legislation may affect Catholic education and increases awareness of Transfiguration parents regarding such initiatives, and works with the Archdiocese of Chicago Legislative Action Board to exchange information and ideas; implements, reviews, and updates a three to five year plan for the school addressing future needs of the facilities, curriculum, personnel, and finances.
Student Recruitment and Retention – gathers demographic and enrollment information; contacts new parish families to promote the school as an educational option; conducts exit interviews with those leaving the school; works with developers and real estate brokers to provide information about the school.
Marketing and Development – Works with student recruitment and retention to obtain information; Maintain and update brochures; information packets; graphics and marketing material.
Fundraising - Researches and coordinates fund raising activity for the current year; plans events for the following year.
Alumni – Works to locate and contact alumni of the school, monitor the alumni website, respond to alumni questions and concerns, and keep alumni informed and participating in the social and other events of the school through bi-annual communication
Elections - conduct nominations, balloting, and election of School Board members.
